Adventure Saturdays

Jeremy and I have been thinking it would be fun to designate one day a week to take Miles and Knox on adventures.  Sometimes maybe it will be something super fun like the Ft. Worth zoo, and sometimes it might be as simple as a Chick-fil-a breakfast followed by an hour or two at a local park.  Jeremy and I love Chick-fil-A, so that one might be more for us than the boys, but whatever.  Saturdays look to be the most practical for us at this point, and the very first Adventure Saturday started this weekend!  At least for Miles.  Baby Knox's adventure wasn't all that adventurous.

Three of my girlfriends/roomies from college came to stay with us for the weekend.  I'm so stinkin' blessed to have girlfriends who get me and accept the stage of life that I'm in.  During the course of a friendship you often find yourself in a different boat than the rest of your friends.  At this point, I'm the only one of the four of us in the parent boat that drips of primary colors and carries enough diapers to soak up Lake Grapevine.  So it was nice for the roomies to jump out of their own ships and swim over to ours for the weekend.

Jeremy was thoughtful enough to brave the first Adventure Saturday alone at the Dallas World Aquarium with Miles in order to give me time to hang out with the girls.  Uninterrupted.  Well, essentially.  Knox was with us, but if anything he only enhanced girl time.  What girl doesn't go gaga over an adorable, smiling baby with big, BIG eyes??  Exactly.  I was, however, a little sad not to be there for Miles' first encounter with sea turtles and manatees, but my day was a little more relaxing than it would have been otherwise.  Miles is my sweetie petey, but let face it - he can be a handful.  And for those of you who haven't witnessed what I'm talking about firsthand in awhile - this face really explains it all.

Just kidding, he's kind of frightening in this picture.  This one shows what I'm talking about though.  How young they start getting sneaky!

Anyway, Jeremy wasn't completely alone.  Nino and Angela met them at the aquarium, and Miles had a ball!  Jeremy said he was very curious and seemed to enjoy all of the new creatures.

After that, Miles went to his friend Jimmy's 1st birthday party in McKinney.  I'd say Adventure Saturday was a success!
