Adoption: Dossier to China!

We just returned safely from a week long vaca in Colorado, and it was great to be with family in 40 degree cooler weather.  I'll be back with pics from that, but first I have something new to document on our adoption.

On Friday, July 6th, our dossier was overnighted to our agency's China Office!  Once the office staff receives it, they will inspect it and briefly translate it, and then they will hand deliver it to the China Center for Children's Welfare and Adoption (CCCWA), which is located in Beijing.  The CCCWA is the division of the Chinese government that focuses on all of China's adoptions, both international and domestic.  Once the CCCWA accepts our dossier, they will register and translate it.  That is when we should receive our Log-In date (LID).  This is the date that our dossier is registered in the Chinese system, and it is important because this is the date that officially begins the wait to be matched with a child.  It generally takes 10-30 days from the time the CCCWA receives the dossier to become logged in.  Our agency will notify us once they find out what this date is.

So, it looks like things are moving right along!
