Yue Xiu Park

We had the afternoon off on our first day in Guangzhou.  And since the rain is still two days away, we decided to spend it outside at Yue Xiu Park, which is about a ten minute walk from our hotel.

Three things about the following photo:

1.  Miles assuming his big brotherly duties.  He loves it.
2.  Look on the right hand side of the sidewalk - way up in front of Jeremy.  It's hard to see, but there is a man with bad leg (not sure if it's paralyzed or broken or what) and he is laying on his stomach on a rolling cart thing.  See all the Chinese characters along the sidewalk, starting under Miles' feet going all the way to the man?  He was painting these on the sidewalk and then outlining them in chalk.  Every so often then he would draw these elaborate tigers in chalk too.  It was pretty cool.
3.  Left side of the sidewalk - how many people are staring at us as we walk?  If you answered, "All of them," then give yourself a high five.  This is normal here.

In China, the dragon is a symbol of power and strength.

Red lanterns are still up all over everywhere in China right now for the Chinese New Year.

Miles wanted to be sure to get this picture for Knox.  We miss you Knox!

This little sweetie bug had fun too.  She even warmed up to her daddy just a little.
